Who is OCDIH

We are the Christian Organization for Integrated Development in Honduras - OCDIH. We are a private non-profit non-governmental development organization (NGO). OCDIH supports integrated development processes, with a focus on the promotion of human capital in socially disadvantaged communities. We provide assistance in the following areas: rural development, marginalized communities, in case of disasters and in cases of social, ethnic, religious or political conflict.

OCDIH was founded on the 6th of December 1993, in Santa Rosa de Copán.

To sustainably potentiate the capacities and promote the rights of women and men and their organizational expressions, based on Christian principles.

Vision

To be a Christian organization - a national point of reference - that generates changes within the families of Western Honduras, from a perspective of justice and well being.

Where do we work

In the light of the decentralization of our work, OCDIH is working according to a regional division: Region I with the regional office in Nueva Arcadia, and Region II with the regional office in Florída.

 OCDIH is promoting change in what we call Western Honduras, specifically in the four departments: Lempira, Copán, Cortes and Santa Barbara. Within these four departments, OCDIH is attending 10 Sectors in which we have our offices and from which we work in the communities.

From our Head Office in Santa Rosa de Copán we are monitoring the institutional development and the progress and lessons in our projects, we promote de communication of OCDIH and we organize the institutional administration.

We are working with 224 communities, 5167 families, and a total of 449 organizational structures.
